Air & Ocean Import Coordinator | Houston, Texas | Salary: Up to $65,000

This role is responsible for coordinating air and ocean import freight movements, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international air and ocean import shipments from origin through final delivery
• Prepare and review import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and arrival notices
• Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations and international shipping requirements
• Communicate with carriers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and customers to ensure timely cargo movement
• Arrange bookings with airlines and ocean carriers, coordinating pickup and delivery schedules
• Track and trace shipments, providing updates and resolving delays, customs holds, or clearance issues
• Work closely with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of shipments
• Maintain accurate records in the company’s transportation management system (TMS)
• Handle customer inquiries and provide high-quality service and solutions
• Coordinate with internal departments such as operations, accounting, and sales

Qualifications & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, specifically in air and/or ocean imports
• Strong knowledge of import documentation and international shipping procedures
• Experience with U.S. import regulations and customs clearance processes preferred
• Familiarity with Incoterms and global trade practices
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
