DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital is accepting applications for a Custodian I, Full-time/Permanent. Working Title : Custodian I-Housekeeping Department.
Under supervision, performs custodial duties in keeping an assigned office, building or area clean and orderly; may instruct, lead or supervise individuals/patients; and to do other related work. Desirable characteristics: good people skills, punctuality and dependability; knowledge of custodial techniques, materials, chemicals, disinfectants and safety practices used in custodial work. On a daily basis will clean restrooms, vacuum work areas; dust furniture in work and/or break areas; clean glass doors, windows and walls as necessary; empty trash and deposit in designated containers; spot clean carpets, sweep and mop floors, hallways, etc. Wax and buff tile floors and other duties as required; follow written and verbal instructions, communicate essential functions as follows: Use and care for equipment supplies such as, but not limited to, floor machines, automatic scrubbers and buffing machines, and the ability to work in stressful situations.
*The incumbent is required to work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital.
