Job Description

Position: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Memphis, TN

Job Status: Permanent Direct Hire, Full-Time

Compensation

• Starting hourly rate of $34.65, increase to $35.15 after 40 shifts (approximately 2-1/2 months) - union rate per bargaining agreement
• Time-and-a-half overtime for hours over 40 per week - overtime readily available
• Shift differential when on nights - 0.50/hour
• Sign-on bonus of $8,000 - half paid after first week, half paid after 40 shifts
• Ability to obtain increases every six months based on proficiency as well as opportunities for promotion
• Immediate medical, dental, vision, FSA benefits and matching 401(k)

Shift

• Must be flexible - will most likely be NIGHTS, 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM, but may be assigned to days (4:00 AM - 4:00 PM) - shifts typically set for 6 months at a time
• 3/3/1 rotation, every other weekend off

Relocation:

• Lump-sum relocation of $4,000 provided by company, plus hotel for first 2 weeks and assistance in finding an apartment

Atmosphere

• Highly-automated food manufacturing facility - high-speed processing and packaging machinery, conveyors
• Troubleshooting and repair - mechanical, electrical, pneumatic

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED - technical or vocational training is a plus
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience within an automated / high-speed manufacturing facility
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Thorough knowledge of motor controls, sensors, gearboxes, and electrical test equipment
• Familiarity with industrial safety, machine safeguarding techniques, and basic industrial math applications.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.

Process

• If company interested in your background and experience, you will be set up for an ON-SITE technical assessment in Memphis, TN. The company will provide travel arrangements if you are not local to Memphis.
• The technical assessment will consist of a hands-on mechanical skills assessment and a mechanical comprehension test
• Upon successful completion of the mechanical tests, you will interview with the hiring manager(s) and an offer will be made quickly if there is mutual interest
• Offers are contingent on a drug screen, pre-employment physical, and a background check. Prior criminal offenses will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Cannot have pending charges.
