Job Description

Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems, performing engineering analysis to validate designs, and supporting projects from concept through production. This role is critical to ensuring technical excellence, compliance with industry standards, and successful delivery of solutions to clients across a regional footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and specify mechanical components and systems using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements

• Develop conceptual drawings, sketches, and schematics, and translate them into detailed assembly drawings

• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate design integrity and performance under various conditions

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support product development from concept through production

• Review projects to determine design requirements, constraints, and potential risks

• Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and best practices

• Apply sustainability principles to engineering designs and project execution

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-EAC accredited program required

• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience

• Experience in mechanical design, analysis, and product development preferred

Special Requirements:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required

• Ability to work within applicable engineering codes and standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to design and assemble components and systems

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and methodologies

• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and schematics

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team environment

Additional Desired Characteristics:

• Familiarity with sustainable design practices

• Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively

Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based with occasional interaction in manufacturing or production environments

• May require limited travel within the regional area

• Standard business hours with flexibility based on project demands
