POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Occupational Therapy Tech
Department: Physical Therapy
Reports To: Director of Rehabilitation Services
FLSA Status: Non - Exempt
SCOPE
The Occupational Therapy Aide is responsible for assisting in the treatment and care of patients receiving OT in accordance with the Rules and Regulation outlined by the AOTA and Kentucky State Board of Occupational Therapy. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy clinic area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
· Adheres to the standards outlined in the Bluegrass Orthopaedics & Hand Care Employee Manual.
· Follows the Bluegrass Orthopaedics & Hand Care Practice Responsibility Program and Code of Conduct.
· Completes all annual compliance training and educational programs.
· Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
· Accurately performs duties as delegated by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
· Collaborates with physicians, management, and other Bluegrass Orthopaedics staff to ensure optimal rehabilitation services.
· Manages inventory and supplies.
· Maintains and updates the FOTO database.
· Orders and restocks clinical supplies.
· Tracks documentation and reporting as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
· Completion of an on-the-job training program for Occupational Therapy Aides.
· Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
· Demonstrated clinical knowledge and competencies relevant to the role of an Occupational Therapy Tech.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
· Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Practice Management Systems (PMS).
· Understanding of OSHA guidelines, meaningful use criteria, healthcare compliance, and financing/payment platforms.

Ability to encourage and motivate patients throughout their Occupational Therapy treatment at BGO.

Follows OT/PT instructions to implement the established Plan of Care (POC).

Seeks consultation or supervision for complex issues when appropriate.

Participates in community programs to promote a positive image of Bluegrass Orthopaedics & Hand Care and raise awareness of available services.

Performs additional duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to sit for extended periods.
· Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
· Adequate visual acuity.
· Hand and finger dexterity.
· Clear verbal communication and hearing abilities.
