Job Description

Immaculate Heart High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Coaches for our Girls Flag Football program. The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including player development, practice planning, and game execution. This role requires strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills to help foster a competitive and positive environment for student-athletes. The Athletic Department will provide support in administrative tasks, scheduling, and logistics to assist the coaching staff in running a successful program.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and leading structured practices, conditioning programs, and game strategies.
  • Provide individual and group instruction to enhance player skills, teamwork, and overall performance.
  • Support the development of a disciplined and positive team culture that prioritizes sportsmanship, leadership, and academic success.
  • Help evaluate players and provide feedback to enhance their growth and development.
  • Work with the Athletic Office on scheduling, travel arrangements, and game logistics.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administration, and athletic department staff.
  • Ensure compliance with school, league, and CIF rules and regulations.
  • Promote the program within the school and local community to encourage participation and support.

Season of Sport:

  • Season – mid June through November

Requirements

  • Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Strong knowledge of flag football rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Ability to teach fundamental skills while fostering competitive play.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the academic and personal development of students.
  • CPR/First Aid certification

Preferred Requirements:

  • Playing experience in football or flag football at a competitive level.
  • CIF coaching certification or willingness to complete required courses.

Wage Range

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
