Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent - Retail Construction - Base Salary to 100k/year - Dexter, MO

• Our client is a nationally licensed general contractor specializing in commercial, industrial, and retail construction projects across the United States. They are seeking a Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent with experience leading retail construction projects, including big box and open-store remodel environments. This role requires full-time travel and hands-on field leadership across multiple project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities from project start through closeout
• Manage day-to-day field operations, including subcontractor coordination across all trades
• Oversee project scheduling, sequencing, and execution to meet deadlines and budget targets
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and enforce OSHA regulations on job sites
• Coordinate inspections, manage punch lists, and drive quality control processes
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Generate and maintain daily reports, site logs, and progress updates
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and field communication with Project Managers and stakeholders
• Lead site meetings and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Support high-volume, phased construction schedules, including open-store remodel environments where applicable

Qualifications

• Experience supporting retail construction projects, including big box retail (Walmart, Sam’s Club, or similar environments)
• Experience with open-store remodels, phased construction, or high-volume rollout projects strongly preferred
• 3+ years of experience in a Superintendent or Lead Field Supervisor role within commercial construction
• Strong working knowledge of all construction trades (carpentry, concrete, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
• Experience with construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar systems preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Experience managing subcontractors, scheduling, and jobsite coordination

Compensation

• Base salary in the 70k - 100k/year range
• Vehicle allowance or company vehicle provided
