Job Description

Position Summary:

The Designer assists with the documentation of design goals, presentations, and working drawings. Designers are expected to contribute design ideas that are conducive to the project’s intended purposes and scale, and are tasked with helping the team document ideas and solutions for each project. Each Designer assists the project team with recommendations, which requires independent judgment in evaluation and of building materials, colors, fixtures, etc. All Designers are expected to identify and help solve problems encountered, with guidance from senior team members.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Use graphic design software and physical modeling tools to produce design exhibits, such as renderings, presentation packages, and models to convey design goals at various stages of the project schedule.

  • Assist with routine discipline tasks including diagraming, modeling, detailing and drafting.

  • Understand and use current company standards and procedures in the production of drawings and exhibits using digital tools such as SketchUp, CAD, and Revit.

  • Assist with researching and collecting information.

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of coordination processes between RDC-S111 and clients, governmental agencies, tenants, and consultants.

  • Complete timesheets promptly and accurately on a daily basis, with minimum timely submission every Friday close of business, and every payroll cycle cutoff.

  • Adhere to the policies of the company

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of design, development and construction documents.

  • Basic understanding of design, site planning, design development and graphic presentation.

  • Proficiency in SketchUp and Revit/AutoCAD (latest version) and other graphic and business software and their application in developing and presenting design documents.

  • Basic oral and written English communication skills.
